About Us

We are proud to be a two-man operation crafting high quality pieces from only local, sustainable woods.

Our Process

Birdseye Bow Ties are carefully bent from very thin wood, and then shaped into various classic bow tie shapes. They are then sanded and coated with 3 coats of varnish. Though made from very thin wood, these bowties are impressively durable due to the manner in which they are glued and varnished. From start to finish, each tie takes approximately 10-14 days to craft.

Our Team

We are Josh Zalabak and Jon Ivey, and together we handcraft every single wooden bow tie you see here. From cutting the wood veneer to size and bending it, to putting on the finishing touches with a 3rd coat of varnish and a soft leather neckband, the two of us do every step. We love the work we do, though it still never really feels like work. Read on for more info about each of us.
